Ana Esquivel

President Elect

Ana Esquivel is President Elect and UCLA Health Member at Large of the UCLA Staff Assembly Board. She earned her BA in 1988 from UCLA. While attending UCLA, Ana began her UCLA Health career as a work study student. After graduating, she continued working for UCLA Health; a career approaching 25 years. Ana has worked for the Department of Medicine in various roles which include research, clinic operations, and management of the Internal Medicine residency clinic training program. She spent a few years working for the Department of Radiology where she established their business development program and expanded their access environment for patient appointment scheduling. In addition, she has worked for the Faculty Practice Group and currently works for the UCLA Health IT department.

As a UCLA alumna and career employee, Ana loves sharing events and opportunities with her colleagues and others outside of UCLA. She embodies the true Bruin spirit and is not shy to share and use opportunities to build her network. As President Elect, Ana is looking forward to building a stronger connection between the campus and health system. She is ready to work in creating opportunities that extend outside of the main campus and are inclusive of all staff. She is looking to learn from current and former board members but more importantly, ready to hear from you – the staff.

Outside of UCLA, Ana enjoys traveling and getting to meet new people and learning about different cultures. She has a passion for volunteering, non-profits, fundraising, and philanthropy. A few years ago, she established a scholarship to support UCLA first generation students in the Herb Alpert School of Music and has continued to fund it.

In addition to Staff Assembly, Ana is a current member of the UCLA First Generation Alumni Network (FGAN) executive board and holds the Vice President position. She formerly held the position of Treasurer as a member of the inaugural FGAN board of directors.
